Forever on the screen
Ballet inspired by the life story of Marlena Dietrich
What's this about?
Concept
The ballet "Forever on the screen" is a fascinating story about the life of the legendary actress Marlene Dietrich.

The creators of the performance have conceived an interesting synthesis of cinematography and dance, where the video content shot specially for the ballet in the format of real cinema, organically intertwined with the stage action, blurs the boundaries between the stage and screen, between past and present, between fiction and reality.

An unusual fusion of 2D and 3D format allows us to perceive the depth of feelings and the truthfulness of the story unfolding in front of us. Such a daring combination gives us the opportunity to look at Marlene's life through her eyes, to see it from two perspectives - the young, popular, surrounded by admirers in the splendor of fame and the lonely, inevitably aging woman who has voluntarily imprisoned herself for 16 years in her own apartment.

As Marlene, the audience will see the world ballet star, the inimitable Yana Salenko. Inspired by the story of the great actress, Yana herself initiated the production. With her subtle acting and virtuoso dance technique she will transport you to that era, where you will undoubtedly meet Marlene.

WHO SHOULD BE INTERESTED IN THIS PRODUCTION AND WHY?
Motivation and target audience
The story of Marlene Dietrich - the story of a strong and courageous woman, charming and beautiful, boldly combining innocence and vice, sexuality and impregnability. One of the first to speak out against sexism, Marlene became a prototype of freedom and emancipation. A century later, this theme is as relevant as ever. And the growing interest to the aesthetics of the "roaring twenties" in Europe has already turned into a trend. Even people who are not very familiar with the history of Dietrich, the performance will be understandable and interesting. And the exceptional scenography, powerful message and deep cultural content will not leave indifferent even the most sophisticated audience
